Metalcore band, Glass Hands, from Indianapolis, Indiana, hit us with a catchy metal track with pop and alternative influences, “How Do You Feel?”
This track hits all the feels if you like a strong and diverse vocal performance. There are lots of examples of falsetto, catchy lines, and the grungy growl vocals we love. One of the key aspects to the track that draws the ear, is its unique groove, emphasizing backbeats, rather than beats one and three. This really keeps the guitar lines interesting and provides a compelling combo for the vocal line. Structurally, the song has a lot of effective building of intensity and motion through sections of aggression, high vocals, and grooving guitars. If you can appreciate the melodic and catchy side of metalcore, you might like this one!

Listen to VOXX! you’ll “Never Look Back”
Hard rock band VOXX, from Tampa Bay, Florida, drop their grungy mix of a track “Never Look Back!”
The track has that raw alternative rock sound of something close to Chevelle, but with it’s own twist, featuring pounding drums and extra heavy rhythms. The breakdown towards the end is a classic hard rock soundscape that throws a great change-up into the song structure. There is lots of great clean vocal processing on this, with the added grit and massive feeling of the lines. If you grew up on hard rock music, and can appreciate a clean but gritty vocal style, you won’t be disappointed!
Give this track a listen, and follow VOXX for future updates!
Young Fatigue Releases Am I Pretty Now?
Young Fatigue tears into the societal standards and unrealistic expectations for body type and image with their second single “Am I Pretty Now?”
Not only does it contain pertinent lyrical content to issues in today’s society, but the track is also full of twists and turns alternating between heavy guitar, calm verses, wide chorus sections, and a pounding drum-heavy breakdown. With a seemingly upbeat chorus, the song is contrasted with dark undertones with distorted guitars and grungy basslines.
Be sure to follow this London based alt-punk band as they continue their journey because you know Young Fatigue has more bangers on the way!

UK-based elctro rock act ESTHR have been regularly releasing singles for about four years, and their latest effort “Violence” is stellar in every way.
Not only do the music and lyrics convey the anger of what’s been happing in the world this year, the production and mix highlight that energy quite nicely. It probably helped that the band had to write the song remotely, likely fueling the frustration being poured into the song.
In fact, judging by the sound you’d think you’re listening to a major label act, it’s that good – yet ESTHR is an independent band. It shows that they’ve clearly got their priorities straight and know that to have a shot in music, they have to put out the best product possible, and they’ve certainly done that!
EJ Mann swings big with “It’s Automatic”
This isn’t British rocker EJ Mann’s first rodeo: he’s been making music for quite some time now, playing in bands such as The Minority and The Call – not to be confused with the 80s US band of the same name.
It’s often difficult to choose which songs to write about, because there’s so much great music out there these days. “It’s Automatic” made it easy though, grabbing listeners’ attention with a simple, yet classic, drum intro that rolls right into the start of the song.
Newer artists may have made the mistake of jumping into the song right away, or perhaps having a much longer intro. EJ didn’t do that – he found the right spot in between to have a short but effective intro.
Moving on from there, the lead guitar pulls you in even further. As things build through the verse, the arrangement does an amazing job of highlighting the vocals, but keeping the guitars just interesting enough that they’re also a highlight of the song.
Definitely keep EJ on your radar, I’m sure we’ll be hearing more great tracks soon!
One more and The Dirty Nil
If you’ve been keeping up with what I’ve been sharing on RMP this year, you know this is at least the third time I’m sharing a new track from The Dirty Nil.
Normally I try not to share too much music from the same artist… But these songs have hit me so hard, I just couldn’t resist.
The band’s upcoming third full length drops on January 1st, 2021 and you can rest assured that it’s as killer as the singles from front to back. The album, which is being released by Dine Alone Records, will not disappoint you.
Until the album drops, you can enjoy one more from The Dirty Nil, “One More and The Bill” – take a listen!

British rock band Foxhaunt have released an epic new video for their song “Out Of Control”.
The song has a massive wall of sound with a driving beat to keep the energy flowing. Not surprisingly, the stellar writing and production are accompanied by an exciting video filled with smoke bombs and flames.
Overall this is a great track, and Foxhaunt is a band I’ll be keeping my eye on – you should, too!
Split between Los Angeles and Miami, Jake Is Lloyd is not a traditional duo.
Thankfully, in the era of social distancing remote collaboration – even on opposite ends of the country – is not only possible, but happening every day.
As time goes on, I’m sure we’ll see more and more long-distance bands sprouting up.
But that’s not what we’re here to talk about – this post is all about “Witness”, the new track by Jake Is Lloyd, off of their EP Prey & Predator.
The song features catchy lyrics with an ear worm of a guitar riff driving it forward.
Take a listen to this end of summer jam and keep an eye out for more!

(De)generate with Zebra Libra
Portuguese rock quartet Zebra Libra have released an energetic, heavy-hitting track called “(De)generation”.
Accompanied by a very well directed and edited video, the song dives into the life of a young man trying to establish who he is as a part of society.
“(De)generation” is band’s first release of 2020, but we’re hoping it’s not the last – we need songs as kick-ass as “(De)generation” to help overcome the quarantine blues.
