Earth Groans bring on the growing pain with “Overgrown”

Earth Groans, the South Dakota-based metal band, recently released a new EP titled “Tongue Tied,” and one of the tracks that stands out is “Overgrown”!

The song starts off launching into a barrage of heavy riffs and thunderous drums, followed by brutally crafted growl vocals. Earth Groans have a dynamic live show, and the hefty presence translates well to the recorded realm. Vocalist Jeremy Schaeffer’s raw, guttural screams perfectly complement the crushing instrumentals, making for a truly powerful listening experience. A song like this absolutely can’t end without a massive breakdown finale as well. If you like a pretty sounding pop production… This track isn’t for you. If you like a grungy display of impactful instruments and a unrelenting growl vocals though, definitely get into this track!

We’ve been turning up the volume “Lately” with Kala’s new track

“Lately” is the brainchild of two Canadian friends and talented artists, Kala and Todd Barriage. What started as an instrumental for Todd’s band, Theatria, quickly transformed into a pop-punk banger with Kala’s fresh spin on lyrics and melodies.

The moment I hit play, the punchy drums, fast riffs, and captivating vocal effects had me hooked. What really stood out to me were the vocal melodies and the raw and relatable story behind the lyrics. One of my favorite sections was the breakdown when Kala sings “finally got closure” leading into a big guitar progression and drawn out chorus. If you love a well produced pop-punk track that you can yell at the top of your lungs, give “Lately” a look!
