Canadian RMP faves Silverstein have just released their latest single, “It’s Over”. While we all want to hear the pandemic is over, the song’s lyrics point to a much more personal, introspective meaning of the song.
The song progresses further into Silverstein’s new sound that they have been exploring in the past few years, and I’m here for it. Take a listen now!
Hard rock band VOXX, from Tampa Bay, Florida, drop their grungy mix of a track “Never Look Back!”
The track has that raw alternative rock sound of something close to Chevelle, but with it’s own twist, featuring pounding drums and extra heavy rhythms. The breakdown towards the end is a classic hard rock soundscape that throws a great change-up into the song structure. There is lots of great clean vocal processing on this, with the added grit and massive feeling of the lines. If you grew up on hard rock music, and can appreciate a clean but gritty vocal style, you won’t be disappointed!
Give this track a listen, and follow VOXX for future updates!
German post-hardcore band Phantom Bay have just dropped their latest track, “Separate Ways”. Based in the cities of Bremen, Hamburg, and Berlin, the band is spread throughout the Northern areas of the country.
They note that “Separate Ways” is written about the sense of regret one feels after parting ways with someone β and realizing it was a mistake. Inspired by Jimmy Eat World and Drug Church, the song will also appeal to fans of Touche Amore (which is what caught my ear) and Betrayed.
Pop punk band Damnear Divine, from Las Vegas, Nevada, puts up their track “Didn’t You Get The Memo?”
Damnear Divine has been kicking it since 2009, and has started getting more active now in 2021, re-releasing their EP from 2011 “Freeways & Farewells” this year! This track has a great energy to it and has the classic pop-punk vocal sound we all love. The guitars are smooth but driving with that distorted warmth. The snippets of aggression with growl vocals offer a nice contrast to the prominent lead vocals in the song. The use of gang vocals on this track are really well done and add a lot of depth to the transitions.
Whether you’ve heard the track already or not, it’s a solid production that I think anyone could get stuck in their head! We’re glad Damnear Divine is getting back out there and tearing it up!

Progressive death metal band Resistor, from Long Island, New York, make for a brutal occasion with their new track “Demon Time!”
This track punches you right in the face straight from the beginning with mega grindy guitars, growl vocals, and record scratching sounds! Applause is in store for these guys as they combine unique electronic sounds with a classic showing of pure brutality. The track doesn’t last long, but it doesn’t need to! Being a straightforward thrashing ebb and flow of fast and slow paced aggression, it really gets Resistor’s point across! Stick around for the slow chugs that exemplify how much gritty depth these guys put into the song.

Metalcore band “MAKE MY DAY,” from Tokyo, Japan, drop a face pummeling track “The Vandal!”
This song has the qualities of a high production metal track with heavy but smooth guitars, pounding drums, and barking growls. While holding down the heavy side, the track also gives way to a beefy clean vocal chorus complete with an effective stop to top off the transition! The breakdown shows off a unique approach with lo-fi effects on the vocal as well. Overall, it’s just a great track with lots of depth in the growling guitars, powerful lead vocals, and massive transitions.

Metalcore band H.E.R.O. from Copenhagen, Denmark, knocks another one out of the park with their new song “Gravity!”
If you can appreciate clean vocal production, synths, and chunky riffs, you’ll enjoy this banger from H.E.R.O.! There are lots of elements taken from pop music injected into this heavy distorted guitar style. The contrast between punchy live drum sounds and stylistic electronic drums, makes for a compelling story in song structure. The slower paced synth and drum verse sections create a great flow that pulls you in before exploding into that high register wide chorus. Overall, the track does a great job building excitement due to the progressing drums and electronic production!
Give this new single “Gravity,” a listen, and follow H.E.R.O. for future releases!
We’ve shared Connecticut-based heartland punks American Thrills a few times in the past, and the band keeps dropping great songs.
This time around, we’ve got “Blue Collar” which is off of a 4-way split EP that’s out today β you can get the split from your label of choice (each label has a unique disc).
“Blue Collar” highlights the classic punk style I’ve come to love, reminding me of bands like Dropkick Murphys β sans bagpipes β The Menzingers, etc. so if you’re a fan of those bands, be sure to give American Thrills a listen!
Melodic metal band Amberstein, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, just dropped a new track “The Comeback!”
It has all the elements of metal you love, combined in a unique way! I especially love the use of that crunchy bass tone in conjunction with the classic deep guitar distortion. The stops in the rhythm guitars really give the riffs some clarity and definition throughout. With this punchy, growling modern metal production, and a wide heroic vocal reminiscing of early metal, the track really delivers. Be sure to listen to the end to snag a listen to the face frying guitar solo section!
Give “The Comeback” a scope, and follow Amberstein for future updates!
Canadian metal project “The God Particle,” hits us with one of their all-star lineup tracks “Sacrifice!”
Jeff Sanna’s solo project: “The God Particle,” brings on Chris Clancy and Dan Bage from Munity Within to lay down vocals and the guitar solo respectively on this song. The track is exceedingly massive, with a theatrical composition style, and soaring lead vocals that add depth and power to the mix. The rising energy that they radiate contrasts especially well with the growl vocals and distorted elements!
Overall, there is some great song writing here with a compelling intro, building of energy throughout, and vocal lines that will catch you by surprise. The song is quite a journey, and if you can appreciate a symphonic leaning style, with epic vocals, and technical performance, you will want to be on it.
Give “Sacrifice” a listen, and follow “The God Particle” to stay up to date on the rest of the album details expected this year!
