That’s what happened to Canadian metalcore act As The Structure Fails – though they weren’t watching, they were filming their video for “All The Weight”.
In all seriousness, it seems to be a commentary on generic and overused shots found in countless metalcore videos, which have become cliche and boring over the years.
If you want to rock out to a killer song while enjoying a good laugh at the expense of the bands As The Structure Fails is calling out, take a look now!
Electronicore concept-rockers Cantervice aren’t shy about their imagination of the future. Though technology does wonderful things, in the wrong hands it can be quite scary. In the future, the lines will likely become blurred even more.
This is what vocalist and producer Robert Matlock covers in Cantervice’s newest song, “Doomsday”. Engineered and co-produced by Cameron Mizell (who happens to have engineered one of my favorite albums of all time, Jamie’s Elsewhere’s They Said A Storm Was Coming). “Doomsday” is as heavy as it is intricate – the brute force of your standard rock/metal instruments is highlighted by synths and pads to the extent necessary for the song, without overstepping the bounds.
This is still 100% a rock song, and you need to take a listen now!
German metalcore heavy hitters Immunity have dropped another in-your-face track, “Creatures”.
Not only does the song feature the technical precision you would expect from a German act, it also highlights the songwriting and musical abilities of the band. If you’re a fan of modern metalcore with a massive sound, give “Creatures” a listen now!
Portuguese alt-rockers Zebra Libra have released not only a banging track,”LIVING AS I GO”, but also a quite touching video where they have their fans share their dreams as drawings.
I’m not normally one to enjoy watching music videos, but this one had me hooked. From being the voice actress of a Disney princess to finding inner peace, each of the dreams is unique and inspiring.
Then of course when it comes to the song, Zebra Libra once again knock it out of the park with their 80s-inspired pop rock blend. Catchy, danceable choruses are one of the band’s trademark sounds and “LIVING AS I GO” is no different. Listen now and let us know what your dream is!
Orange County hard-rock quartet Against The Sun have done it again. Fresh on the heels of their recent single, “Chelsea Said”, the band have dropped “Back To Ruin”.
The track blends influences from hard rock and metalcore, as well as something a little different – woahs that seem cut right out of an AFI song.
Ultimately, it makes for an energetic and refreshing new take on hard rock. Take a listen now, and be sure to follow the band so you don’t miss their next track!
Vermont is typically known for Bernie Sanders, Ben and Jerry, and Phish…
What many people don’t know is that there is a punk and metal scene, which while dwindling from its glory days in the 90s and 00s, is still quite active.
Most of the artists in the scene these days are local or regional acts, but Saving Vice is one of the exceptions to the rule – the band are about to head out on their first major tour, supporting Lil Xan on a 20 day run.
Leading up to the tour, Saving Vice have released “White Rabbit”, which features some rap influences – no doubt they’ll be a good crossover for the upcoming tour.
I may be biased, having lived in Vermont on and off for the past two decades, but I’d say the Vermont scene is alive and kicking!
Canadian RMP faves Silverstein recently dropped yet another stellar track, titled “Live Like This”. The track does a good job of blending some of Silverstein’s poppier leaning sounds with the post hardcore style they’re known for.
Nothing,Nowhere features on the track, lending harmonies and backing vocals to the choruses.
For anyone who is unsure about modern ‘Stein, this is a track that should reassure you that the band is headed in the right direction.
Indie/emo artist Jaws of You, the brainchild of Anthony Rainville, have released their first EP Hyper Fix. “Automatic”, the lead single from the EP is reminiscent of an early 2000s emo song, similar to what you may hear from Jimmy Eat World or The Early November.
Three years in the making, the EP is Rainville’s return to music after having played in The Press War for the better part of a decade. Take a listen to “Automatic” now and find the fully EP on your favorite streaming provider!
If you’ve been following RMP for any length of time, you know we’re big fans of Norwegian producer and multi-instrumentalist ALESTI. His brand of metalcore, featuring a different vocalist on every track, is a rather unique model for a band… But that doesn’t stop ALESTI from dropping bangers over and over.
His latest track, “Disconnected”, features vocals from The Word Alive’s Telle Smith β take a listen now!
