Metal Mondays, Nov. 28th, 2016

If you have a case of the Mondays, I know what will make it better… Metal Mondays!

First up, London's new hard rockers, PH-ARM. "Nice Party" is one of the singles off of their upcoming debut album, 152. Punchy drums and flaming hot guitar tones push this song foward with 90s-sounding vocals that have both clarity and aggression.

Next up, the Swiss band Last Leaf Down. The band include atmospheric vocals over laid back guitar riffs in this heavy yet mellow sounding song, "The Path". Described as "Shoegaze from the woods", the band brings together shoegaze and metal. The two styles are combined quite well – a heavy foundation and rhythm section, with whispy guitars and vocals on top. The band's new album will be released next spring.

Last, we have Sonic Syndicate with "Start a War (Zardonic Remix)". It's a remix of a somewhat generic rock song featuring lots of "woah oh ohh"s. It's basically something a band popular with the mid teen demographic on Warped Tour would play (don't get me wrong, I LOVE Warped Tour). The remix is definitely more exciting than the original, but not by much.

Until the next Metal Mondays!
