Street Dogs‘We've conquered nothing! We want the world! Like I said earlier we are never satisfied and we are always looking forward.’

Your first album was a great success. Did you expect your career to lift of so suddenly?
Tobe: ‘Success?! Wow you're very kind. I don't think we are ever satisfied with what we accomplish. We always strive to be better whether that be the live show or the records we make. That being said I don't really ever reflect on success but rather look forward as to what's next for us.’

Most of you guys have been in bands before starting this one. Do you think this helped to hype Street Dogs when they first came out?
Tobe: ‘For sure. I think a lot of that has died down now but definitely in the beginning it helped raise the awareness of our band. I think now 5 years later we've become an entity all our own. Most of our new fans are completely unaware of our past bands.’

Not only the first, but every other single album has been successful. You conquered Europe and the Unites States every time you released something. How does that make you feel?
Tobe: ‘We've conquered nothing! We want the world! Like I said earlier we are never satisfied and we are always looking forward.’

Every other two/three years, you bring out a new album. Can we expect something new in the close future?
Tobe: ‘I'm proud to announce that our new record will be released on August 31 on Hellcat/Epitaph records. We tracked it completely at the Blasting Room Studios in Ft. Collins, CO in February with our Johnny Rioux co producing with Rick Barton (original guitar player of Dropkick Murphys). This record I think we finally captured all of the essence of what we are all about.’

Street Dogs is a name that must have a certain meaning. What’s the reason behind the name?
Tobe: That's a question for Rioux and Mike! Ha ha... it's a horrible band name though huh? Ha ha ha!

We’ll do that for sure in the next interview! Anyway, a lot of your songs are anti-war. ‘Let’s bring the soldiers home.’ If you were president of the US, what would your actions be to handle the war, or better, stop it?’
Tobe:’What a complicated job to be President. I wouldn't want it! The war definitely has to stop as it is bleeding America dry. The cost of human life as well as the financial cost is fucking stifling! I'm not a politician though... just a guitar player with a lot to say.’

Back to the world is a song about family, getting back home safely from the war, am I right?
Tobe: Mike wrote it about the way he felt when he was fighting in Desert Storm.

What did you think when Flogging Molly asked you to tour with them?
Tobe: I though shit! I'm going to need detox when I get home.

Now something completely random. What gets you angry?
Tobe: The Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant, Rush Limbaugh, George Bush and Dick Cheney, Chunky Peanut Butter, bad Mexican food.
